Baby Readiness

It was a great weekend this weekend. Started out with a great idea, Al and I attending the grand opening of Rock N Rodeo up in Sterling. They had up and coming country artist Chris Young headlining, and the proceeds when to St. Jude's Childrens Hospital. However it wasn't as glamorous as we thought it might be. I must say, I think I'm getting too old for stuff like that. There were WAY too many people, and it took over an hour and a half for our food order to come. Plus two hours on my feet with no stool or chair empty in sight and I was ready to leave! I guess being pregnant didn't help the hunger or standing factors either, but the place seemed way understaffed!

Saturday was a day to get ready for Melissa's baby shower! Her due date is next month so Katie and I were able to squeeze in her shower after the holiday's and before the baby is here! Katie had the awesome idea of a tea party theme, which was nice and cozy with the yucky rain and chilly temps we had.

Katie made chicken salad tea sandwhiches and lemon bars, I made lemon-cranberry scones and brownies:

I also had a lot of fun putting together a rose centerpiece and corsage. It was my first attempt at a corsage, so I knew it wouldn't be perfect. I think I realized once Melissa had it on that the stem section was too long:

A little soothing sounds lamb that she got for one of the gifts I thought was adorable:

Melissa and Katharine (I think both Melissa and I plan on picking Katharine's brain about mothering etc. since she is one of the ladies we know with the most recent experience).

Me and Melissa.
