But I thought with such a big change on the horizon (our first baby coming in May?), it might be a good way to ease into the blogging world. Hopefully I will soon learn the ins and outs and be able to post great pictures just like the rest of you I admire so much. But I'm going to start off easy for now.
I felt like this weekend was a monumental one. We finally attacked the "extra room" which up until this point we have spent very little time in. It has been the room that we kept our filing cabinet and piles and piles of un-filed papers! It also had the cat food and water bowls and her litter box (UCK!). I also thought so naively when we moved in I would use it as a sewing room. I think I sewed twice in the year plus that we've live there :P But now, with our son coming in mid to late May, I've become more motivated than filing, sewing, and cat maintenance, could muster. So we moved everything out and dumped it into either the guest bedroom or our bedroom, and we even were able to paint the room and Al changed out outlets so that work. I unloaded the closet full of pictures and frames and gift bags I plan to re-use, and even was able to hang the first clothes we have already bought for our little boy! I hope the ultrasound tech doesn't fail us now! Needless to say I was very proud of Al and I for tackling such a task in one weekend. I'll have to post some pictures we took once I find the cable to my new camera!
On the other hand, I have two other rooms now, that need a serious purging! How did two people accumulate so much junk in the two or so years we've been married? I guess we stared even before we were married. It started to panic me to the point that I decided to determine how many free weekends I have left until my new due date of May 22nd. Its about 11 free weekends. I sure hope my motivation continues these next few months, because it seems there is still so much to tackle as far as cleaning and getting the house ready, let alone reading up on and choosing my "birth plan" and what I need to be doing now at this week of pregnancy, and parenting books, etc.
But when I sit back and remember that it is all in preparation for our little baby, and how blessed we are to be on this journey, it gives me joy and anticipation and energy!
Hopefully I can steal some of that energy and finally get some Christmas/New Years letters in the mail soon. I mean its only the middle of January, thats not too crazy late right? At least there is still snow in the forecast that makes me feel like its not too far removed from the holidays to send out our holiday letter (how embarrassing!)
So just to add a picture for interest I'm adding this one. Its also a good memory of before I was pregnant and I was still light enough for my husband to pick me up. Probably not the case anymore! ;)

Not to leave out credit where credit is due, the picture above is from Erin J Photography, she is great! You can find her blog at http://erinjphoto.blogspot.com/ Give her a look!
