Forest Friends

It was kind of a struggle to decide what the nursery theme was going to be. At first Al and I weren't even sure if we were going to find out the gender of the baby, but we quickly realized I like to plan ahead of time too much, and many relatives and friends were itching to know. While we weren't sure if we were going to find out I found a few neutral themes I really liked, but I also had a dream to make the nursery into a "Really Wooly" theme. It is artwork and uplifting phrases from a Christian who has taken the biblical Shepard and Lamb (Christ and Us) truth and made it into an adorable set of cards and stationary etc. You can find an example of what I'm talking about here: http://store.dayspring.com/rewoprgrca1.html
and here is a picture of an example:

But I was struggling to find bedding and other accessories that matched to my liking. I was upset to let the adorable theme go, especially since I really liked the idea of surrounding our newborn with God's truths right away (not that he will understand right away). But again the inconvenience of trying to match things pulling from different websites verses buying a pre-made design with all the accessories readily available at my finger tips and not having to stress over whether I'd finish in time was enough for my anxious personality type to give in.
So we decided on our next favorite theme, which is Carter's Forest Friends Theme. An online version looks like this:

I loved how cute the little animals are and I think it could be used for a boy or girl, so if we have another baby and it turns out to be a girl, she might still be able to use the same bedding, etc.
This is the crib blanket:

Here are some of the cutest little animals on it:

And here is one of the first outfits we have for our son. I know its orange stripes and almost looks like a jail suit, but its what my husband allowed me to buy because it was deeply discounted. And as an added bonus it matches the cute little bootie rattles my mom gave us at Christmas time!

Maybe I'll make him wear this outfit when he has misbehaved and needs to be put in "baby jail" (or just his crib for a nap) ;)
